Centers for Fathers and Families
The First Tee of Greater Sacramento offers programs not only to help improve a participant’s golf skills, but also to educate, change and enrich lives.  One program that is meeting this goal is  The Inner City Youth Program, sponsored by The Center for Fathers and Families.  This program was started in 2009 and is designed to improve the lives of our under-privileged youth of our area by incorporating The First Tee Nine Core Values of The Center for Fathers and Families and The First Tee.

We use this afterschool program to explain and show how one can be honest, respectful, responsible, courteous and personify integrity through the game of golf., but also prove how those ideas and life skills can be applied to everyday life, both at home and at school.  It has become clear that this is an extremely vital time of life for these young people; as they are capable of understanding how important it is to live by the core values, as well as work toward their life long goals and to continue with their education—all of which can be taught through the game of golf.

Northern California Minority Junior Golf
The Northern California Minority Junior Golf Scholarship Association offers an 18 week long program for juniors of all ages and abilities.  This class meets once a week on Saturday evenings.  The class is open to all juniors and their families and teaches participants all parts of the game from putting to  how to play on the golf course.  Every year a scholarship is granted to a participant who has been active within the program!  The fee for the program is $25 for youth, $45 for  2 or more youth and  $45 for adults.
